Mindful communication strategies to facilitate effective listening and assertiveness skills in the workplace.

Participant Objectives:

  • Learn what science predicts about healthy relationships on and off the job. 
     
  • Build awareness of your needs in the context of work relationships. 
     
  • Practice research-backed communication strategies with your colleagues through interactive role play.
     
  • Learn specific skills to better understand each other AND ask for what you want. 
     
  • Learn ways to improve how you communicate what matters most to you. 

Format:

The Relationship Superpowers workshop (a.k.a. Team Approaches To Stress Reduction) gives groups the communication skills they need to better understand each other and buffer against stress and burnout on and off the job. Workshop participants practice research-backed communication skills and receive feedback from their peers. Participants practice research-backed mindfulness skills to improve their ability to understand each other and problem-solve as a team. 


Many participants come to the Relationship Superpowers workshop after completing the Burnout Prevention Hack-A-Thon as a way to continue their practice in self-care with more relationship-focused strategies. Workshop For Real Life Founder, Anna Lindberg Cedar, MPA, LCSW, LICSW, presents a set of research-backed communication tools adapted from Dialectical Behavior Therapy to improve effective listening and assertiveness on the job. 

 

This workshop includes time for personal reflection and role play. Participants will receive access to the Workshops For Real Life digital self-care library to support continued skill practice.

About The Presenter

Anna Lindberg Cedar, MPA, LCSW, LICSW

 

Anna Lindberg Cedar, MPA, LCSW, LICSW is a licensed psychotherapist who founded Therapy For Real Life and Workshops For Real Life to make burnout prevention concepts more accessible to everyone. Anna received her Master of Science in Social Work and Master of Public Administration from Columbia University, where she completed multiple fellowships in evidence-based therapy best practices. The skills and burnout prevention strategies that Anna teaches in her workshops are drawn and adapted from researched-backed therapies, such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and proven relationship strategies. Anna designed her workshops to be a non-therapy option for folks who want to improve their self-care outside of the therapy process. Anna hosts the Therapy For Real Life Podcast in addition to her workplace programs to make self-care concepts even more accessible outside of  the therapy process.
